Cooking / Reheating Instructions

Air Fry

Air frying ngohiong is a great option for a crispy, healthier alternative to deep frying. Here are the general cooking instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Remove the frozen spring rolls from the package and place them in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching each other.
  3. Lightly spray the spring rolls with cooking oil (vegetable or canola oil work well) or brush them with oil.
  4. Cook the spring rolls for 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
  5. Remove the spring rolls from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Fry

Frying is a traditional method of cooking ngohiong that results in a crispy exterior and a tender, flavorful filling. Here are the general cooking instructions:

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot over medium-high heat. The oil should be hot enough to sizzle when you drop a small piece of bread into it.
  2. Remove the frozen spring rolls from the package and carefully place them in the hot oil, making sure they are not touching each other. Be careful not to overcrowd the fryer, as this can cause the spring rolls to stick together.
  3. Fry the spring rolls for 3-5 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside. Use tongs or a slotted spoon to turn the spring rolls occasionally to ensure even browning.
  4. Remove the spring rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  5. Serve the spring rolls while they are hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
